Nissan Motor is set to begin pre-sales of its all-new NX7 SUV in China next week, alongside the introduction of another NEV, as part of its ongoing electrification strategy in China.
The Japanese automaker announced the development in a statement on Friday while showcasing its locally developed R&D innovations at the ninth China International Import Expo in Shanghai.
Nissan has so far introduced five NEV models in China, including the N7 all-electric sedan, N6 plug-in hybrid sedan, NX8 SUV and Frontier Pro pickup. The automaker aims to expand its lineup with five additional NEV models by summer 2027, targeting key mainstream segments.

The upcoming NX7 will become the fourth model in the N-series lineup of Nissan’s Chinese joint venture, Dongfeng Nissan, and its second SUV after the NX8. According to earlier regulatory filings, the NX7 is a five-seat plug-in hybrid SUV measuring 4,785 mm in length, 1,932 mm in width and 1,665 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,815 mm.
The SUV combines a 1.5-liter petrol engine with an electric motor producing a peak output of 170 kW (228 hp). It is powered by a 40.9 kWh battery supplied by CATL, providing an all-electric driving range of either 220 km (137 miles) or 225 km. The NX7 also features roof-mounted LiDAR technology and supports urban Navigate on Autopilot (NOA).
The NX8 is currently priced between 159,900 yuan ($23,810) and 209,900 yuan, although a limited-time promotion lowers the entry price to 149,900 yuan. The NX7 is expected to be positioned below the NX8, suggesting a more accessible price point.

As Nissan expands its product portfolio in China, the automaker is also strengthening the country’s role as a global export and innovation hub. The Frontier Pro pickup, developed and produced in China, has already been launched in overseas markets including Latin America, the Gulf region, Southeast Asia and Mexico.
Meanwhile, the China-developed N7 electric sedan has begun exports to Southeast Asia and will go on sale in the Philippines alongside the Frontier Pro on Friday. Nissan plans to expand Frontier Pro sales to more Latin American markets this year and to right-hand-drive markets such as Australia and New Zealand in 2027, while the NX8 and other models are also earmarked for global exports.
