Webasto has unveiled an innovative logistics center within its Neubrandenburg location, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany, marking a pivotal advancement towards digitalization and sustainability in the automotive supply chain. Constructed over two years, this state-of-the-art facility embodies the fusion of technology and efficiency, setting a new benchmark for the industry.
Spanning 1,800 square meters and standing 27 meters tall, the two-story structure is engineered to manage over 30,000 small parts essential for producing heating systems, including high-demand high-voltage heaters for hybrid and electric vehicles. Notably, Webasto’s production of heaters in Neubrandenburg exceeded 1.5 million units last year, showcasing the plant’s pivotal role in meeting the automotive industry’s evolving needs.
Dr. Andreas Dikow, Managing Director at the Neubrandenburg plant, highlights the strategic intent behind this logistic center’s creation. He points to the relentless pursuit of efficiency and sustainability across all product value chains, recognizing the facility’s automated logistics processes as critical to achieving these objectives.

Its automated warehouse system significantly enhances operational efficiency, providing direct, automated supply of components to production lines and workstations through advanced driverless transport systems.
The inauguration of this logistics center, scheduled for May 7, 2024, promises to be a significant occasion, attended by distinguished guests such as Mecklenburg-Vorpommern’s Minister of Economic Affairs, Reinhard Meyer, and Neubrandenburg’s Mayor, Silvio Witt. With approximately 730 employees, Webasto’s Neubrandenburg plant is a key economic contributor to the region.
