This exemplary move signals Volvo’s unwavering commitment to surging ahead in the SDV realm, precisely exemplified by its EX90 flagship. The vehicle, a beacon of innovation, elucidates the imperatives of avant-garde software proficiencies. With a surge in battery electric vehicles (BEVs) being propelled by state-of-the-art core computers, there is a rising tide of in-house developed software enriched continuously through over-the-air updates.
Embarking with a robust assembly of 100 professionals, the Gothenburg Center’s workforce is projected to burgeon to 300, paving the way for an ecosystem rich with 500 testing rigs and a spectrum of digital test environments. This remarkable establishment will orchestrate a harmonized collaboration with Volvo’s engineering maestros located across global hubs, from Sweden’s Lund to Shanghai, Bangalore, and the upcoming brilliance in Krakow, Poland.

Anders Bell, the global head of research and development, hailed the center as a pinnacle of technological prowess. He envisaged the center as a global platform, where developers across varied geographical tapestries could seamlessly conduct software tests, marking a relentless pursuit of excellence, operating round the clock, every day of the year. “I firmly believe that with this new testing center, we’ve set a new benchmark for the automotive industry.,” Bell stated.
