Volvo is expanding its electric vehicle lineup in the U.S. with a more affordable option. The 2026 Volvo EX30 now comes in a single-motor variant, starting at €33,250—€5,100 less than the original dual-motor model. The price drop positions the EX30 as an appealing choice for drivers seeking an affordable transition to electric mobility.
The new base-model EX30 features a single electric motor positioned on the rear axle, delivering 268 horsepower. It uses the same 69 kWh battery as the higher-performance version, and this rear-wheel-drive offers an EPA-estimated range of up to 420 km on a full charge.
Despite its more affordable price point, the EX30 remains generously equipped. The base ‘Plus’ trim offers a solid set of features, while the optional ‘Ultra’ package—priced at €39,820—adds premium upgrades such as Park Pilot Assist and a 360-degree camera with 3D visualization. With a compact length of 4,233 mm, the EX30 is well-suited for navigating urban environments.

Volvo is also introducing a more rugged, off-road-focused model to the EX30 lineup: the EX30 Cross Country. Starting at €41,100, this model comes solely with the robust twin-motor all-wheel-drive system. It’s built for drivers seeking an EV capable of tackling terrain beyond urban roads.
The EX30 Cross Country stands out with a range of adventure-focused features. It boasts increased ground clearance, a blacked-out front grille, skid plates, and broader wheel arches that lends a bold, rugged appearance. Built to handle snowy paths and urban commutes alike, the variant comes at the cost of a slightly lower driving range of 365 km.
The latest additions to the EX30 range are part of Volvo’s broader update to its electric vehicle lineup for the 2026 model year. The flagship three-row electric SUV, the Volvo EX90, has received several enhancements, including quicker charging capabilities and upgraded computing power to improve both safety and infotainment features.
