VinFast, a subsidiary of Vingroup, has inaugurated its new Ha Tinh EV facility in Vietnam’s Vung Ang Economic Zone, completing the project in under seven months from its inception. Covering 360,000 square meters, the new facility is capable of producing 200,000 vehicles annually, making it VinFast’s second operational EV manufacturing site and its fifth production plant worldwide.
The electric car factory comprises several core operational units, including shell welding, painting, and assembly workshops, along with a logistics warehouse and a quality inspection center. Additionally, a secondary factory complex spanning 240,000 square meters is under construction, with plans for further expansion in the coming years.

VinFast claims its Ha Tinh facility boasts the most advanced production line in Southeast Asia, featuring a high level automation and cutting-edge technologies from global leaders like ABB, Durr, Fanuc, and Siemens. According to Autocar, the factory’s operations adhere to major international standards, including ISO 9001 for quality management, ISO 14001 for environmental practices, and IATF 16949 for automotive quality systems.
Initially, the facility is designed to produce 35 vehicles per hour, with a focus on compact urban EVs such as the VF 3, EC Van, Minio Green, and additional models currently under development. These vehicles are intended for distribution in both domestic and global markets.
The plant is expected to create approximately 6,000 direct jobs, with the potential to expand its workforce to 15,000 over time.
VinFast’s Hà Tĩnh also plans to draw supporting partners to the industrial zone to establish an integrated supply chain and achieve over 80% localization in electric vehicle production by 2026.

“Once operational, this facility will help VinFast move closer to its goal of producing one million vehicles per year to meet growing demand in both domestic and international markets,” Vingroup CEO and Vice Chairman Nguyễn Việt Quang said.
VinFast’s international presence is expanding with five facilities currently in development across Vietnam, India, Indonesia, and the United States. The upcoming plants in India and Indonesia are expected to meet growing international market demands.
Earlier this month, the company signed its first authorized dealership in California, supporting its broader U.S. expansion efforts.
