Vayve Mobility, a rising innovator in the Indian automotive sector, is set to debut Eva, the nation’s first solar-powered compact electric car, at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo in New Delhi. Scheduled from January 17 to 22, 2025, this showcase follows Eva’s initial unveiling at Auto Expo 2023, where it garnered significant interest. The upgraded model highlights eco-friendliness and practicality as key features, tailored for urban commuters.
Designed to tackle city-specific challenges such as traffic congestion, limited parking, and soaring fuel costs, Eva offers a unique combination of sustainability and convenience. The vehicle provides a driving range of 250 kilometers per charge, complemented by an additional solar-powered range of up to 3,000 kilometers annually. With a high-voltage powertrain supporting rapid charging, it can add 50 kilometers in just five minutes. Performance features include acceleration from 0 to 40 km/h in five seconds and a top speed of 70 km/h.
Eva also integrates advanced technology for a seamless user experience. Features like smartphone connectivity, vehicle diagnostics, remote monitoring, and over-the-air updates ensure enhanced convenience and functionality. Cost-efficiency remains a standout aspect, with an operational cost of just ₹0.5 per kilometer—drastically lower than the ₹5 per kilometer average for petrol-powered cars.
Speaking about the upcoming launch, Nilesh Bajaj, Co-founder and CEO of Vayve Mobility, stated, “Eva is a revolutionary city car that blends sustainability with practicality. We’ve refined its features based on feedback from Auto Expo 2023 to better meet the needs of urban consumers.” Bajaj highlighted the car’s focus on solar power integration and advanced connectivity to redefine urban commuting.
Targeted at addressing the short-distance, low-occupancy commuting patterns prevalent in Indian cities, Eva aims to carve a niche in the small car segment. With its lightweight build and energy-efficient design, the vehicle is positioned as an affordable and environmentally responsible option for urban households.
Vayve Mobility, an Indian automotive startup, has positioned itself at the forefront of sustainable urban transportation. By integrating clean energy, innovative technology, and compact design, the company seeks to revolutionize city commuting. Its commitment to energy efficiency and environmental responsibility aligns with its vision of making green mobility accessible and practical.
