Tesla has unveiled the new Model Y Performance, the most powerful variant of its popular mid-size electric SUV. The Model Y performance features adaptive suspension, various driving modes and a range of enhancements inside and out.
The model has been officially revealed for the European and Middle Eastern markets, with customer deliveries scheduled to begin in September.
Equipped with the same dual ‘Performance 4DU’ motors found in the Tesla Model 3, the Y Performance delivers 460 bhp, accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.3 seconds, and reaches a top speed of 155 mph. According to Tesla, it also features an upgraded high-voltage battery pack with higher-capacity cells, allowing for a WLTP-rated driving range of 360 miles (580 kilometers) — only 3.7 miles (6 km) less than the Long Range All-Wheel Drive variant.
The crossover SUV comes equipped with an adaptive suspension system that constantly adjusts its response based on road conditions and driving behavior. It also offers multiple selectable driving modes. In comparison, other Model Y trims have frequency-selective dampers that do not support selectable modes.

The refreshed Model Y Performance boasts a more assertive design, highlighted by 21-inch ‘Arachnid 2.0’ alloy wheels fitted with Pirelli tires and red brake calipers positioned behind them.
Inside, the cabin features a slightly larger 16-inch touchscreen, which Tesla claims is its highest-resolution display to date. The front sport seats are both heated and ventilated and include enhanced side bolsters designed to keep occupants firmly in place during cornering.
Tesla is not releasing the Model Y Performance in its home country, the United States. Instead, the launch will take place in markets across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. Meanwhile, production of the Model Y Performance will take place at Tesla’s Brandenburg plant in Germany.
