TATA.ev, India’s largest EV manufacturer, has rolled out 14 manned MegaCharger stations in India through a collaboration with Voltran.
According to the company, this is the country’s first comprehensive manned public EV charging network, providing 24/7 staff assistance along with facilities similar to those found at conventional fuel pumps.
The expansion brings TATA.ev’s MegaCharger network to over 70 locations across India under its Open Collaboration 2.0 program, through which the company collaborates with Charge Point Operators (CPOs) to develop fast-charging infrastructure.

Tata.ev and Voltran have set up the new MegaChargers throughout Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, two adjoining states in southern India.
The new network is designed to enhance the convenience and reliability of long-distance EV travel, setting a new standard for public charging infrastructure in the country.
The 14 newly launched stations are strategically placed along five key routes—Hyderabad–Bengaluru, Hyderabad–Vijayawada, Hyderabad–Tirupati, Vijayawada–Chennai, and Srikakulam–Vijayawada—with highway sites spaced between 100 and 170 km apart. Each facility is equipped with multiple fast-charging connectors, and certain hubs deliver up to 360 kW across 12 bays, enabling vehicles to reach 80% charge within 30–40 minutes.

In Hyderabad, the flagship MegaCharger at Madhapur, situated less than 5 km from Hi-Tech City and Jubilee Hills, features 12 bays with a combined capacity of 360 kW, complemented by amenities such as a café, restrooms, and free Wi-Fi.
With this expansion, the Tata.ev MegaCharger network now spans over 70 locations across India. TPEML (Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Limited) plans to scale this up to 500 operational MegaChargers throughout the country by 2027.
