Subaru has officially unveiled the 2026 Uncharted, its third fully electric model, following the debut of the 2026 Solterra and the upcoming Trailseeker. Developed in collaboration with Toyota, the Uncharted shares several chassis components with the 2026 Toyota C-HR EV, similar to its other EVs.
The 2026 Uncharted marks Subaru’s entry into the electric compact crossover segment and will be available in three trims: Premium FWD, Sport, and GT. Built on the same TNGA-C platform as the Toyota C-HR, it draws power from a 74.7 kWh lithium-ion battery pack.
Although Subaru is recognized for offering all-wheel drive as standard across its lineup, the Uncharted will be the brand’s first front-wheel-drive model.
The compact crossover will come equipped with dual motors for all-wheel drive, delivering 338 horsepower and accelerating from 0 to 60 mph in under 5 seconds on the Sport and GT trims. Powered by a 74.7 kWh battery, the AWD Sport and GT variants are expected to offer around 290 miles of range, while the front-wheel-drive version, producing 228 horsepower, will exceed 300 miles and come at a more affordable price.

Subaru states that the FWD Premium variant will be available in ‘limited quantities’ and is meant for buyers seeking a more budget-friendly option with extended range.
The Uncharted will also feature a standard NACS charging port, giving drivers access to Tesla’s Supercharger network. According to Subaru, the vehicle can charge from 10% to 80% in under 30 minutes, aided by battery preconditioning technology. However, charging at Tesla’s V3 Superchargers and above may be slightly slower than anticipated, since the Uncharted supports a maximum charging speed of 150kW.

Inside, the Uncharted offers a spacious two-row, five-passenger layout highlighted by a 14.0-inch touchscreen and dual wireless charging pads. Distinct design elements include orange interior accents, an optional water-repellent seat fabric, and a squared-off steering wheel. Standard features comprise heated seats, ambient lighting, and a power tailgate. The Sport trim adds a heated steering wheel and a 360-degree camera system, while the range-topping GT model boasts a panoramic sunroof, 20-inch alloy wheels, ventilated front seats, and a premium audio system.
The Uncharted is scheduled to hit U.S. dealerships in early 2026 and will be manufactured at a Toyota facility in Japan. Pricing and full specifications will be revealed closer to its official launch.
