Stellantis and Valeo have deepened their partnership with the launch of Europe’s first remanufactured LED headlamp and a remanufactured infotainment display screen. Announced during the Rematec trade fair in Amsterdam, the launch marks a major move in both companies’ shared commitment to circular economy practices and long-term sustainability goals.
Both Stellantis and Valeo aim to significantly reduce their carbon footprints—Stellantis by achieving Carbon Net Zero by 2038 and Valeo by reaching carbon neutrality by 2050 through its CAP 50 decarbonization program. Remanufacturing plays a central role in these strategies, offering a way to extend product lifespans while minimizing waste and emissions.
Remanufacturing involves restoring used products to Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) standards with performance and warranty equivalent to new parts. The newly launched headlamp allows the reuse of up to 50% of valuable raw materials—primarily the LED module—cutting CO₂ emissions by up to 70% compared to manufacturing a new unit. The product will be available in Stellantis’ SUSTAINera REMAN range starting mid-2025, with initial applications for the Peugeot 3008 and 5008, followed by the 508 model.

Valeo is producing the remanufactured headlamp at its facilities in Chrzanow, Poland, and Angers, France. This launch marks the first time Valeo has remanufactured a headlamp, showcasing the company’s drive to innovate its industrial operations.
The remanufactured infotainment display screen, meanwhile, is Valeo’s third such product with Stellantis. Remanufactured at Valeo’s Circular Electronics Lab in Nevers, France, the display screen is set to be available from June 2025 under the SUSTAINera label. It will support various models including the Peugeot 308, Citroën C3 and C3 Aircross, DS DS3 Crossback, and Opel Grandland X, Corsa, and Mokka.
Valeo brings over four decades of remanufacturing expertise across multiple product categories, such as starters, alternators, brake calipers, and air conditioning compressors. The company currently remanufactures one million products annually and plans to double this by 2030.

Stellantis’ SUSTAINera range currently includes more than 12,000 part numbers across 40 product lines, including high-voltage batteries, transmissions, engines, and electronic modules. The expansion into remanufactured lighting and display components demonstrates Stellantis’ intent to lead the automotive remanufacturing sector.
Laurence Hansen, SVP Global Circular Economy at Stellantis, highlighted the growing demand for affordable, sustainable spare parts: “We are expanding our range to include electronics and launching the first remanufactured LED headlamp. This shows our commitment to innovate in automotive remanufacturing.”
Christophe Le Ligné, Valeo Group R&D VP and Light CTO, echoed this sentiment: “At Valeo, sustainability means action through teamwork. We are proud to extend our remanufactured portfolio in collaboration with Stellantis, delivering products that are ‘as good as new’ at lower cost to consumers.”
