Stellantis has announced a major collaboration with NVIDIA, Uber Technologies, and Foxconn to jointly develop and deploy Level 4 (driverless) autonomous vehicles for global robotaxi services.
The initiative marks a crucial step in Stellantis’ global robotaxi strategy and follows its recent partnership with Pony AI to test autonomous vehicles in Europe, positioning the company to play a key role in the future of safe and sustainable mobility.
The partnership will leverage Stellantis’ global vehicle engineering and manufacturing strength, NVIDIA’s AI and autonomous driving software, Foxconn’s electronic and system integration expertise, and Uber’s ride-hailing operations to introduce a new generation of Level 4 autonomous vehicles.

The collaboration will utilize Stellantis’ AV-Ready Platforms, including the K0 Medium Size Van and STLA Small, integrated with NVIDIA’s DRIVE AGX Hyperion 10 architecture, featuring the safety-certified NVIDIA DriveOS and full-stack DRIVE AV software tailored for Level 4 autonomy.
Designed for flexibility, these platforms will cater to various passenger and commercial applications.
Uber plans to deploy 5,000 Stellantis autonomous vehicles in select global cities, beginning in the United States. Pilot operations will expand over the next few years, with the start of production targeted for 2028.
Under the agreement, Stellantis will design and produce the vehicles, NVIDIA will supply its advanced DRIVE AV software suite, Foxconn will focus on hardware and systems integration, and Uber will manage global robotaxi operations using Stellantis-built vehicles.

The AV-Ready Platforms will integrate advanced sensors, redundant systems, and high-performance computing to ensure optimal safety, reliability, and cost efficiency.
Antonio Filosa, CEO of Stellantis, said: “Autonomous mobility opens the door to new, more affordable transportation choices for customers. By partnering with leaders in AI, electronics, and mobility services, we aim to create a scalable solution that delivers smarter, safer, and more efficient mobility for everyone.”
Uber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi stated: “NVIDIA is the backbone of the AI era and is now fully harnessing that innovation to unleash L4 autonomy at enormous scale.”
“Stellantis is among the first to integrate NVIDIA’s technology for deployment on Uber. We are thrilled to work with Stellantis to bring thousands of their autonomous vehicles to riders around the world,” she added.

NVIDIA’s Founder and CEO Jensen Huang stated: “Level 4 autonomy isn’t just a milestone for the auto industry, it’s a leap in AI capability. The vehicle becomes a robot, one that sees, perceives, plans, and drives with superhuman precision.”
Foxconn Chairman Young Liu noted that autonomous mobility is a key focus in Foxconn’s EV strategy, and this partnership accelerates the global rollout of robotaxi technology by combining hardware, sensor, and computing innovations.
The non-binding Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) outlines future agreements on technology development, licensing, production, and procurement. Each partner will retain the flexibility to pursue other collaborations within the autonomous driving domain.
