Sharjah, UAE: The organisers of the STAR OF SECTOR Awards have announced the postponement of the event’s inaugural edition, originally scheduled for November 29, following an internal review that found fewer than ten entries met the programme’s stringent standards of excellence.
Presented by GCC Business News and Emirati Times, and managed by WellMade Network FZC LLC, the awards aim to celebrate genuine innovation and leadership within the region’s business community. The organisers said the delay underscores their commitment to credibility and their refusal to compromise on the principles of authentic achievement.
“Moving forward simply for profit would have been easier, but it would undermine the values underpinning STAR OF SECTOR,” said the organising committee in an official statement.
Despite a strong response to the call for nominations, organisers noted that quality remains a challenge in the region’s awards landscape. “Our aim is to honour true excellence. Lowering our standards would weaken the foundation of these awards,” the committee added.
While acknowledging operational and financial setbacks, organisers described postponement as a strategic investment in the award’s long-term integrity. “Prioritising commercial gain over merit would defeat the purpose of our initiative,” said a spokesperson for WellMade Network.

New event dates and nomination guidelines will be released soon. In the meantime, organisers plan to enhance evaluation criteria and encourage participation from organisations that demonstrate real innovation.
Even before its first edition, STAR OF SECTOR has drawn considerable attention across the world’s business community. Yes, the brand is already recognised for setting new benchmarks in corporate reputation management, positioning itself as a symbol of integrity-driven recognition in a competitive regional landscape.
