During the Next Mobility trade fair, spanning May 8-10 at Milan, Solaris Bus & Coach proudly displays the Urbino 12 hydrogen bus, a frontrunner in the European shift towards hydrogen-powered public transportation. This vehicle stands out as a preferred model among Europe’s burgeoning hydrogen bus options, underlining the sector’s progression towards emissions-free solutions.
Next Mobility serves as a critical convergence point for sustainable mobility discussions, drawing transport operators, vehicle manufacturers, and technology advocates. The event champions innovative, low- and zero-emission transportation methods.
Visitors are encouraged to view Solaris’s Urbino 12 hydrogen at booths D22, D26, G21, and G27 in the Fiera Milano hall. This model, the cornerstone of Solaris’s hydrogen fleet, operates in over ten European nations, including cities like Bolzano and Venice, Italy. The company boasts a robust order book with commitments for 600 additional buses set for delivery between 2024 and 2025.
Dominating the European zero-emission bus market, Solaris claims nearly half the market share in the hydrogen segment. The Urbino 12 features state-of-the-art hydrogen fuel cell technology, with rooftop composite hydrogen tanks capable of storing 37.5 kg of hydrogen, yielding a range of 600 km per fill, as verified by the e-SORT 2 test.
This model also integrates eco-friendly CO2 air conditioning systems with a heat pump and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) including MirrorEye and Mobileye Shield+.
This exhibit not only highlights Solaris’s leadership in hydrogen technology but also underscores the critical need for a global shift towards sustainable transport solutions.
