The conversation underscored Dubai’s ambition to become a dominant force in the global automotive landscape through forward-looking strategies and strategic partnerships.
During the meeting at the Union House, Sheikh Mohammed reiterated the UAE’s desire to collaborate with top-tier automotive manufacturers. This aligns with the nation’s vision to strengthen its global position as a major hub for commerce, trade, and investment. Nissan, a pioneer in zero-emission technology, serves as a key partner in this vision, benefiting from the country’s strategic advantages.
The Ruler of Dubai emphasized the significant role of Dubai’s ‘Car Market’ initiative, an advanced marketplace set to link with 77 ports worldwide, fortifying the emirate’s status as a rising automotive trade giant. This project seamlessly integrates with the goals of Dubai’s Economic Agenda D33, aimed at transforming the city into one of the globe’s leading urban economies by 2033.
Sheikh Mohammed’s dialogue with Uchida also covered the UAE’s unique capabilities that enable automotive companies to scale rapidly and penetrate new markets. He pointed to the unparalleled logistics infrastructure and global connectivity that place the UAE as an ideal operational base for automotive giants.
Nissan’s history with the region, dating back to its establishment of a regional headquarters in Dubai in 1994, highlights the deep ties between the company and the UAE. The recent global debut of Nissan’s all-new Patrol from the UAE further cemented the country’s strategic importance in Nissan’s international plans.
