SAP has reinforced its dedication to sustainable, emissions-free mobility by extending its partnership with Gireve, a leading platform for e-mobility roaming services. This move connects SAP’s standard e-mobility solution to Gireve’s extensive roaming network, opening doors to new collaborations and expanding access to EV charging points.
The partnership builds on the initial collaboration between SAP France and Gireve in 2019, which successfully integrated SAP’s research e-mobility solution with Gireve’s platform. This enhanced the visibility of SAP’s French charging network by adopting the OCPI protocol, ensuring interoperability and maximizing the visibility of charging stations. The updated partnership now integrates the advanced OCPI 2.2.1 protocol, giving SAP customers access to over 536,000 charging points worldwide.
Advanced EV Charging Management
SAP’s cutting-edge E-Mobility module is a secure, scalable, and comprehensive solution designed to simplify the management of EV charging networks for Charge Point Operators (CPOs) and e-Mobility Service Providers (eMSPs). As a global leader in enterprise software, SAP’s platform streamlines charge point device management, optimizes charging sessions, and provides end-to-end pricing, billing, and invoicing services.
With its integration into Gireve’s roaming platform, SAP enhances its reach by offering broader access to public charging infrastructure, ensuring that its corporate clients and partners can efficiently manage diverse charging scenarios.
Seamless Roaming and Access
SAP E-Mobility’s connection with Gireve simplifies the process for EV drivers seeking charging points. Once registered, Gireve communicates the locations of available charging stations. If an EV driver uses a badge unknown to SAP’s platform at a charging station, Gireve’s system ensures smooth authorization before the charging session begins.
Ulrich Scholl, VP and Chief Product Manager for SAP E-Mobility, remarked: “SAP E-Mobility offers a secure, scalable, and open platform to build mobility operations. With the extension of our trusted partnership with Gireve, we’re adding key features to our latest E-Mobility platform. Our partnership will ensure a smooth handling of any charging scenario for our corporate clients and e-mobility partners.”
Thibault Lemierre, Senior Business Development Manager BeLux at Gireve, added: “Building on our longstanding, trusted partnership, SAP has successfully supported a wide network of CPOs across Europe. Together, we’re now exploring the next frontier in e-mobility, tackling emerging challenges like Plug & Charge, Advanced Clearing Services, and Smart Charging solutions, to stay at the forefront of industry innovation!”
