SAIC Motor, a Fortune 500 entity with an annual revenue of $110 billion and operations across 100 countries, joins JSW Group, with diverse interests and a revenue footprint of $23 billion. This alliance aims to revolutionize India’s automotive landscape.
Key to this JV is the Shareholder Agreement and Share Purchase & Share Subscription agreement, signed at MG UK Headquarters, London. The event marks a union of visions from Wang Xiaoqiu, President of SAIC, and Parth Jindal from JSW Group, focusing on the future trajectory of MG Motor in India.
This JV plans to harness both companies’ strengths in automotive expertise and innovative technology. Initiatives include enhancing local sourcing, charging infrastructure, and production capacity, and launching a diverse range of vehicles prioritizing green mobility.
Under the agreement, JSW Group secures a 35% stake in the Indian JV operations, while SAIC pledges ongoing support with cutting-edge technology and products. The goal is to provide the Indian market with unique mobility solutions.
Wang Xiaoqiu, SAIC’s President, stresses the importance of collaboration in the global automobile industry. Xiaoqiu is confident about capitalizing on the Indian market, enhancing MG Motor’s brand and market presence.
Parth Jindal of JSW Group points to the JV’s ambition to revitalize MG Motor operations in India, with green mobility at the forefront. The collaboration is set to launch a range of advanced automobile products, including intelligent connected New Energy Vehicles (NEVs) and Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) vehicles. Developing India’s Electric Vehicle (EV) ecosystem is a primary goal of this JV. Jindal expresses appreciation to SAIC and MG Motor for their partnership, looking forward to elevating MG Motor with SAIC’s support.
