MP Industry Group, a leading Romanian automotive supplier, has inaugurated its first auto parts factory in Morocco, a milestone underscoring the country’s rising prominence as a manufacturing hub. Situated in Tanger Automotive City (TAC), the facility spans 35,000 square meters and specialises in producing plastic components for the automotive industry using advanced injection moulding technology.
Major Investment and Job Creation
Backed by a 437.62 million dirham investment, the project is expected to create 150 direct jobs. The factory’s cutting-edge operations also integrate sustainable practices, including photovoltaic panels and plastic waste recycling systems.
The inauguration ceremony was graced by Industry and Trade Minister Ryad Mezzour and Ahmed Bennis, CEO of Tanger Med Zones (TMZ). Minister Mezzour highlighted the factory’s role in expanding local value chains and reinforcing Morocco’s industrial capabilities.
“This project, developed within the Renault ecosystem, reaffirms the attractiveness of our industrial platform,” Mezzour stated.
Ahmed Bennis emphasised the strategic partnership with MP Industry and the broader benefits for Morocco’s automotive sector. “This initiative strengthens international competitiveness and advances the industrial integration of Morocco’s automotive industry,” he said.
Future Prospects
Jean Drugescu, CEO of Metaplast and MP Industry Group, expressed optimism about the company’s growth in Morocco. “With the automotive industry’s expansion and Africa’s market potential, MP Industry Group is poised for a promising future, especially in Morocco,” he said.
Its establishment within the Renault ecosystem further integrates Morocco into international value chains, reflecting the country’s success in attracting foreign investment and promoting industrial development.
