At the 2025 ChangeNow Summit held at the Grand Palais in Paris, Renault Group reaffirmed its commitment to sustainable and low-carbon mobility in Europe. Josep-Maria Recasens, Chief Strategy Officer of Renault Group, and Cléa Martinet, Sustainability Director and CSO of Ampere, delivered a keynote outlining the company’s efforts in transforming the automotive sector amid growing environmental and competitive pressures.
Four years into its Renaulution strategic plan, Renault Group has integrated sustainability as a core pillar of its operations. With 12 electric vehicles already in its portfolio and a robust electric ecosystem established across Europe, the company is contributing to the broader democratization of electric mobility.

Renault’s approach extends beyond vehicle production. Through its ReKnow University, the company is supporting the electric and software transition by upskilling its workforce. To reduce dependency on raw material imports and counter supply chain volatility, especially from China, Renault has invested in European-based closed-loop systems. Initiatives such as The Future Is NEUTRAL, the first 360° circular economy venture for the automotive sector, and the Refactory in Flins, Europe’s first industrial site dedicated to circular mobility, exemplify this shift.
Between 2019 and 2024, Renault Group achieved a 40% reduction in CO2 equivalent emissions from vehicle use and a 50% reduction in industrial emissions. This reflects the company’s cross-functional integration of sustainability into all departments.

Taking innovation further, Renault has introduced Emblème, a concept family vehicle that combines comfort, advanced technology, and groundbreaking decarbonization. The vehicle emits 90% less CO2e over its full lifecycle compared to a 2019 petrol-powered model, positioning it as a testbed for future Renault vehicles.
Renault’s presentation at the ChangeNow Summit highlights the Group’s vision of marrying competitiveness with environmental responsibility, setting a benchmark for the industry’s transition to a sustainable future.
