Renault Group has started a mission to advance decarbonization in transport and logistics by joining the New Energies Coalition. This alliance aims to spearhead innovative and sustainable solutions across the supply chain. Renault Group, with its extensive automotive expertise, will play a crucial role in the Coalition’s strategy to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and promote environmentally conscious practices.
Denis Le Vot, Chief Supply Chain Officer at Renault Group, articulated the company’s enthusiasm: “We are very excited to join this team of industry leaders. Today’s major challenges, like the energy transition or the digital revolution, cut across sectors: collaboration is the winning game. When it comes to transport and logistics decarbonization also, no one can pretend to have the solution alone. Our joining the New Energies Coalition is consistent with Renault Group’s willingness to play open and an ecosystemic approach, bringing the best of its expertise to collectively move towards the decarbonized supply chain”
Unified Efforts for Sustainable Innovation
The New Energies Coalition, initiated in December 2019 by Rodolphe Saadé, CEO of CMA CGM Group, includes prominent industry leaders such as Airbus, Air Liquide, ArcelorMittal, AWS, Bureau Veritas, Crédit Agricole CIB, Carrefour, Cluster Maritime Français, CMA CGM, Engie, GRTgaz, Kuehne+Nagel, Michelin, PSA International, Rolls Royce, Schneider Electric, Total Energies, Veolia, and Wartsila. Propelling the energy transition within transport and logistics through robust R&D and inter-industrial collaboration, the entities share a collective objective.
Comprehensive Decarbonization Strategy
Representing the entire transport and logistics value chain—from manufacturers to end users—the Coalition fosters a deep understanding of sector-specific challenges. This inclusive framework enables the creation of viable solutions for decarbonizing transport across maritime, air, and road logistics globally.
Renault Group’s entry into the Coalition signifies a leap forward in low-carbon transportation development. Its leadership in electric mobility, combined with expertise in vehicle connectivity and AI-driven control towers, positions it to significantly impact transport emissions reduction. Renault Group will also contribute its knowledge in logistics decarbonization, emphasizing multimodal transport optimization and reducing kilometers per transport unit.
