Pony ai is expanding its autonomous mobility footprint into Europe through a new partnership with ride-hailing platform Bolt, weeks after raising fresh capital through a Hong Kong listing.
The collaboration will integrate Pony ai’s SAE Level 4 autonomous driving technology into Bolt’s network, with initial robotaxi deployments planned for cities across multiple EU member states and other European countries starting in 2026.
Neither company has disclosed which cities will be included or provided a firm rollout schedule beyond the expected launch year. Both companies said in a joint press release that they will prioritize real-world testing, safety validation, and user-experience refinement before shifting to fully driverless operations.

Pony ai Founder James Peng described Europe as “a fast-growing and highly promising market for autonomous mobility.” Bolt Chief Executive Markus Villig said autonomous vehicles would reshape transport systems, adding that the company is “proud to partner with Pony ai as the company scales its autonomous driving technology.”
The European launch follows Pony ai’s strong third-quarter results announced on 25 November, with total revenues rising to $25.4 million, a 72% year-on-year increase.
Growth was driven by expanded robotaxi operations and licensing deals. Robotaxi revenues increased 89.5% to $6.7 million, while fare-charging revenues more than tripled due to rising demand in China’s tier-one cities and improved fleet efficiency.

Pony ai also reported a major commercial milestone in November: its seventh-generation robotaxis reached city-wide unit economics breakeven in Guangzhou, averaging 23 daily orders per vehicle.
The company currently operates 961 robotaxis, including 667 seventh-generation units, and aims to exceed 1,000 vehicles by the end of this year and expand its fleet to more than 3,000 by the end of 2026.
The Bolt partnership marks Pony ai’s second European collaboration this month. On 17 November, the company announced an agreement with Stellantis to develop and test SAE Level 4 autonomous vehicles built on Stellantis’ AV-Ready platform.
Pony ai already operates fully driverless robotaxi services in Beijing, Guangzhou, Shanghai, and Shenzhen, and plans commercial operations in Abu Dhabi in 2026.
