Polestar UK is advancing its sales model and retail footprint, driven by significant growth with over 30,000 vehicles now on UK roads. This strategic expansion coincides with the debut of two luxury electric SUVs, Polestar 3 and Polestar 4, signaling a pivotal moment for the brand.
Matt Galvin, Managing Director at Polestar UK, highlighted the importance of these developments, saying, “Expanding our retail operations with both new and established partners enables broader customer reach. These partnerships, alongside our growing model lineup, will amplify our brand’s presence and sustain our momentum.”
The UK stands as a trailblazer in Europe, as Polestar shifts to a direct sales model, aligned with its ambitious business plan to achieve profitable growth next year. UK retail partners are now empowered to sell directly from Polestar Spaces, elevating the customer experience. Shoppers can still configure and purchase their vehicles online or through a network of Polestar Spaces, streamlining the ownership journey. Currently, Polestar’s high-performance EVs are available across nine locations in the UK.
Galvin added, ”We have delivered more than 30,000 Polestar 2 electric fastbacks to our UK customers since we launched in 2020. The development of our sales model and expansion of our retail footprint is a natural step to continue building upon the strong Polestar brand position particularly with deliveries of our two new luxury electric SUVs Polestar 3 and Polestar 4 starting.”
Polestar UK is poised for a bold expansion, with plans to grow from nine to 17 Spaces within the next 18 months, supporting a robust product rollout and ensuring greater accessibility for an expanding customer base.
John O’Hanlon, CEO of retailer group Waylands, which operates Polestar’s Bristol Space, expressed enthusiasm for the new agreement with Polestar. “The new agreement between Waylands and Polestar will allow us to enhance the engagement with existing and future Polestar customers and will help us manage the customer journey in much more detail. I am really looking forward to adopting this strategy with Polestar 3 and 4 arriving this month.”
Globally, Polestar has delivered over 160,000 vehicles across 27 markets. The brand is accelerating its global expansion, targeting entry into seven new markets by 2025, including France, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Poland, Thailand, and Brazil, through local distribution partnerships.
