Swedish automaker Polestar has achieved a new Guinness World Record for the longest distance traveled by a production electric SUV on a single battery charge. The Polestar 3 completed an impressive journey of more than 581.3 miles (935.44 kilometers) in nearly 23 hours, setting a new benchmark for electric SUVs.
The record-setting drive took place in late July on public roads in Norwich, UK. The distance has since been officially certified by Guinness World Records as the longest journey ever completed by a production electric SUV without plugging in.
The journey lasted 22 hours and 57 minutes, during which the Polestar 3 maintained an average speed of 40 kilometers per hour and achieved an efficiency of 12.1 kWh per 100 kilometers.
Notably, the battery of the Polestar 3 was not fully depleted when the vehicle surpassed the official WLTP range of 706 kilometers (438 miles).

With 20% of the battery charge still available, the electric SUV continued the journey, traveling an additional 12.8 kilometers (8 miles) even after the battery indicator displayed 0%, a reading that proved to be inaccurate. The vehicle ultimately came to a stop at a charging station, marking the successful completion of the record-setting attempt.
Introduced in October 2022 and entering production in 2024, the Polestar 3 is the brand’s inaugural SUV and the first model to be built in both the United States and China. Built on the SPA2 platform shared with Volvo’s EX90, the Polestar 3 Long Range Single Motor variant delivers approximately 299 kW (399 horsepower) to the rear axle.
Equipped with a standard 111-kilowatt-hour battery across the entire Polestar 3 lineup, the vehicle carries an EPA-estimated range of 350 miles. However, as demonstrated by the record-setting drive, the Polestar 3 is capable of exceeding this estimate under favorable conditions.
