Nissan has unveiled the Kait, a new global compact SUV positioned as the brand’s entry-level model for several international markets. Revealed on December 3, the Kait will take over from the Kicks Play in Brazil and form a key part of Nissan’s updated regional strategy.
Production has begun at Nissan’s Resende Industrial Complex in Brazil, with the company planning to export the model to more than 20 markets starting in 2026. The SUV will sit alongside the latest-generation Kicks and the popular Magnite, strengthening Nissan’s footprint across South America and other emerging regions.
Although the Kait is based on Nissan’s familiar V-platform, it adopts a more upright design and sharper styling cues. The exterior features split LED headlamps, redesigned DRLs, a wider grille with horizontal slats, and refreshed alloy wheels.

The profile keeps the rising beltline, roof rails, and tapered roof seen on the Kicks. At the rear, sleeker LED tail-lamps and new ‘Kait’ lettering are introduced, with the number plate moved to the bumper. The SUV measures 4,304 mm in length and provides a 432-liter boot.
The cabin continues the entry-level positioning but introduces practical updates. The black interior layout is familiar yet refined with redesigned air vents, a simplified gear selector, and 60:40 split-folding rear seats. The Kait will be offered in four variants: Active, Sense Plus, Advance Plus, and Exclusive.
Feature highlights include a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, a 9-inch Pioneer touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, wireless charging, automatic digital climate control, a 360-degree camera, and adaptive cruise control.

Nissan will also offer a full suite of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), giving the Kait one of the strongest equipment packages in its segment.
Power comes from Nissan’s 1.6-liter naturally aspirated petrol or flex-fuel engine paired with a CVT. The engine develops 110 bhp and 146 Nm on petrol, with slightly higher figures when running on ethanol. Nissan estimates around 11 kpl in city driving. The Kait is priced from roughly Rs 20 lakh in Brazil, with exports to South American markets scheduled to begin in 2026.
