The Chinese electric SUV Neta X has officially entered production in Indonesia, following its debut at the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS 2024).
On September 13, 2024, Neta Auto Indonesia celebrated the first assembly of the vehicle in Completely Knocked Down (CKD) form at the PT Handal Indonesia Motor plant in Bekasi, West Java.
Liu Lei, Vice President of Overseas Business at Neta Auto, emphasized the significance of the event, stating, “Today is an important moment for us as we can realize one of our commitments and strategic plans in developing our product line for the electric car market in Indonesia by inaugurating the local production of Neta X in CKD.”
The collaboration between Neta Auto Indonesia and Handal Indonesia Motor is a pivotal step toward delivering electric vehicles with global standards.
The initial annual production capacity is set at 27,000 units, with a local content level of 44 percent. Neta is determined to boost domestic supply, including batteries, to enhance Indonesia’s electric vehicle ecosystem.
Neta also views Indonesia as more than a local market. The brand aims to position the country as a strategic export hub for Neta X, targeting multiple international markets.
This development underscores Indonesia’s growing role in the global electric vehicle sector and highlights Neta Auto’s vision of promoting sustainable mobility while contributing to the nation’s industrial progress.
