Morocco is advancing its transition toward sustainable transportation with the launch of its first Auto Expo dedicated entirely to hybrid and electric vehicles. Organized by the country’s Vehicle Importers Association (AIVAM), the event will take place from September 18 to 28, 2025, at AUDA Space in Casablanca.
Spanning 3,500 square meters, the 11-day exhibition is expected to attract nearly 50,000 visitors. Attendees will explore the latest innovations from 31 automotive brands, with 70 hybrid and electric models on display. Organizers confirmed that several vehicles will make their debut during the show.

‘Auto Expo goes beyond a simple show,’ AIVAM said in a statement, highlighting its vision under the slogan “Drive Green, Think Future.” The event is designed as a platform for sustainable mobility solutions, fostering discussions on road safety, automotive financing, and the opportunities and challenges in adopting eco-friendly transport.
Morocco has set ambitious goals to become a strategic leader in the African automotive market’s shift to electrification. The country is not only investing in electric vehicle imports but also working toward establishing full-scale electric vehicle manufacturing capabilities, joining a select group of nations with such capacity.

In parallel, Morocco has launched a major green public transport program ahead of co-hosting the 2030 FIFA World Cup with Spain and Portugal. The initiative includes the procurement of 7,000 electric buses, with a first tender for 1,300 vehicles already underway.
The push for sustainable mobility comes as Morocco grapples with the effects of climate change, including severe droughts. By promoting hybrid and electric vehicles, the Auto Expo reflects the country’s commitment to cleaner transportation and a resilient future for its citizens and the region.
