Mitsubishi Motors heralds a new era of international market engagement through the commencement of Xforce compact SUV exports, a strategic move that amplifies the automotive behemoth’s global footprint. This initiative, rooted in the company’s Indonesian manufacturing hub, PT Mitsubishi Motors Krama Yudha Indonesia (MMKI), signifies a pivotal step in Mitsubishi’s quest to cater to a worldwide audience from Southeast Asia and beyond.
The launch occurred at Tanjung Priok port, situated a mere 10 kilometers from Jakarta, attended by dignitaries from Indonesian and Japanese governments alongside Mitsubishi Motors stakeholders. This assembly underscores the collaborative and international partnership driving this venture.
Vietnam emerges as the premier market within ASEAN to introduce the Xforce, preceding a methodical expansion to other nations including the Philippines. Mitsubishi Motors envisions extending its reach into South Asia, Latin America, the Middle East, and Africa, showcasing an ambitious export blueprint designed to span global territories.
Takao Kato, Mitsubishi Motors’ President and CEO, articulated immense pride over the export initiative from Indonesia, emphasizing the endeavor as a testament to the company’s dedication to enhancing the Indonesian economy and fostering the automotive industry’s growth. “We are very proud to export from our production hub in Indonesia. Going forward, we hope to export to various regions, thereby making a further contribution to the Indonesian economy and the development of the Indonesian automobile industry,” Kato stated.
This venture into Xforce exports builds upon Mitsubishi Motors’ previous endeavor of initiating Minicab EV production in Indonesia, a kei-car class electric commercial vehicle, marking the company’s inaugural production effort abroad. This reflects Mitsubishi Motors’ commitment to innovation, sustainability, and the cultivation of a versatile production and supply framework capable of adapting to dynamic market demands.
As Mitsubishi Motors unfolds its export strategy, the global automotive sector observes with keen interest. The integration of its Indonesian manufacturing capabilities into its international expansion plans not only showcases strategic acumen but also a commitment to driving economic growth and industry advancement in Indonesia. With the Xforce at the forefront of its export lineup, Mitsubishi Motors embarks on a journey poised to redefine its global presence and contribute significantly to the dynamics of international automotive trade and industry development.
