Mitsubishi Motors Corporation is set to unveil a state-of-the-art compact SUV at the 30th GAIKINDO Indonesia International Auto Show scheduled for August 10. The vehicle, the first of its kind to feature four driving modes including an innovative “Wet” mode, is anticipated to offer drivers enhanced comfort and security across diverse weather and road conditions.
As a prelude to the world premiere, Mitsubishi released a teaser video showcasing the SUV’s sleek design, along with a glimpse into the ‘Dynamic Sound’ – a groundbreaking sound system developed in partnership with Yamaha Corporation.
Designed as the “Best-suited buddy for an exciting life,” the compact SUV is poised to elevate the driving experience with its robust yet stylish design, spacious interior, and versatile storage spaces. The compact body size also promises enhanced agility, making it an ideal choice for various road surfaces.
The vehicle’s key selling point, the four drive modes – Normal, Wet, Gravel, and Mud – offer drivers superior control in different road and weather conditions. The innovative “Wet” mode aims to ensure safer driving on rain-soaked roads, reducing the chance of steering wheel control loss.
A new feature, the Active Yaw Control (AYC), forms part of the vehicle’s suite of driving aids. It controls the driving force on the front wheels to enhance controllability, working in harmony with the vehicle’s traction control, engine control, and power steering control systems.
Adding to the allure is the Dynamic Sound Yamaha Premium sound system, a first in this new line of compact SUVs. The sound system, a result of Mitsubishi’s collaborative efforts with Yamaha, delivers optimal sound quality enhancement within the vehicle, offering drivers a robust audio experience.
The development process for this compact SUV included rigorous testing in Japan on road conditions mirroring those in the ASEAN region, as well as extensive on-site testing within the region itself.
