Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation (MFTBC), the eminent automotive leader based in Kawasaki City, has significantly advanced its global environmental efforts through the introduction of the all-electric eCanter truck in Taiwan. This strategic move marks the vehicle’s expansion into its sixth market since its debut in 2017.
With this launch, conducted in partnership with Daimler Truck Asia Taiwan (DTAT), MFTBC not only broadens its geographic reach but also fortifies its dedication to sustainable transportation solutions. “At Daimler Truck, our history has been about being the first. We introduced the world’s first truck and have kept the world moving with a global network and diverse products for over 125 years,” stated Andreas Deuschle, MFTBC’s Head of International Sales and Customer Service.
Strategic Response to Environmental Challenges
The timing of the eCanter’s arrival aligns precisely with Taiwan’s comprehensive environmental agenda targeting net zero emissions by 2050. By integrating the eCanter into its lineup, FUSO offers enterprises and logistics networks in Taiwan a robust, zero-emission alternative to support these sustainability ambitions.
Rigorous Local Testing Demonstrates Reliability
The eCanter has undergone extensive testing across Taiwan, ensuring its adaptability to the region’s diverse climate and terrain. “We have rigorously tested the eCanter across Taiwan, from north to south, under varied conditions, confirming its reliability in diverse operational contexts,” explained Kristin Lin, Chairperson at DTAT. Accumulating over 50,000 kilometers in these trials underscores the vehicle’s durability and performance.
Customization Meets Diverse Industrial Demands
Taiwanese markets can access the eCanter in two configurations: five and 8.55-ton models, each available with several wheelbase lengths to suit a range of industrial requirements, including different body types and electric power take-off (ePTO) options. The vehicle also includes cutting-edge safety technologies such as Active Brake Assist 5, Acoustic Vehicle Alerting System, Lane Departure Warning System, and Electronic Stability Program.
Unwavering Support for Electric Vehicle Adoption
DTAT is enhancing its customer service by establishing specialized eCanter repair and maintenance zones throughout Taiwan. These facilities, equipped with advanced technologies and staffed by elite technicians, are designed to facilitate the seamless adoption of electric vehicles for business owners. “Our support transcends mere sales; we are committed to providing unparalleled service to our customers,” declared DTAT CEO Jung Woo Park.
This expansion not only underscores Mitsubishi Fuso’s commitment to innovation but also reaffirms its influential role in advancing sustainable transportation solutions worldwide.
