Electrification, digitalization, and sustainability now dominate the automotive industry’s evolution. Mahle Aftermarket, a key player within the global automotive supplier Mahle, expands its product and service portfolio for electric vehicle (EV) diagnostics and maintenance through its innovative BatteryPRO product line. This commitment aligns with the Mahle 2030+ Group strategy.
In 2023, Mahle Aftermarket achieved record sales nearing EUR 1.3 billion, underscoring its main role within the Group. At a press workshop in Stuttgart, Philipp Grosse Kleimann, a member of the Mahle Management Committee and head of the Aftermarket business unit, highlighted the company’s dual focus.
“The future belongs to e-mobility – both on the road and in the workshop. Still, combustion engines will continue to play an important role in many parts of the world for some time. By using renewable fuels, these engines can have a quick and sustainable impact on climate protection,” he asserted.
Mahle Aftermarket’s BatteryPRO product line includes E-SAFETY, E-SCAN, E-HEALTH, E-CARE, and E-CHARGE, offering independent workshops and a comprehensive suite of EV solutions. Georges Mourad, Director of Global Service Solutions at Mahle Aftermarket, emphasized the significance of these innovations. “Battery service is becoming increasingly important. BatteryPRO’s newly developed products are the beginning of a new generation of diagnostic and service solutions for electric vehicles, covering the entire life cycle – from diagnosis to maintenance.”
BatteryPRO products ensure the safety and efficiency of high-voltage and 12-volt batteries, display error codes, assist in draining and refilling the battery cooling circuit, and identify potential leaks. The latest addition, E-HEALTH Charge, checks the ‘health status’ and remaining performance level of high-voltage EV batteries, crucial for evaluating used electric vehicles.
“With E-HEALTH Charge, buyers can quickly and easily determine the performance of batteries installed in used electric vehicles during, for example, a test drive in a workshop. This reduces the danger of them driving off the lot with a ‘lemon’ of a car,” Mourad explained. Launched in April 2024, this device already impacts the market significantly.
