Lucid has confirmed its third midsize EV, priced at approximately $50,000 and built on the Gravity X all-terrain SUV platform. The upcoming model will include enhanced off-road capabilities and a high-end interior finish.
The move reflects the company’s ongoing effort to strengthen its position in the EV market, using a new platform designed to cut costs and expand the vehicle lineup.
At the Munich Motor Show this week, Lucid’s interim CEO Marc Winterhoff confirmed the upcoming $50,000 EV and emphasized that it will incorporate design elements from the Gravity X concept. Introduced last month, the Gravity X (short for Gravity Cross) is a rugged, enhanced iteration of Lucid’s electric SUV built for all-terrain performance.
The concept showcases a range of off-road enhancements, including all-terrain tires, a raised suspension, tow hooks, and a broader, more assertive exterior design. It also introduced a distinctive roof rack system integrated with LED lighting. Inside, Lucid upgraded the interior with premium leather seating, durable floor mats, a microsuede-wrapped steering wheel, and additional features tailored for off-road use.

Production of the midsize SUV is slated for early 2027, with a midsize sedan to follow soon after.
Lucid has obtained funding to sustain its operations into the latter half of next year, with initial plans to scale up production of its standard midsize SUV ahead of the broader platform rollout. The automaker is also exploring the possibility of adapting the midsize platform for fleet applications, including its Gravity robotaxis, through a collaboration with Uber.
Lucid’s latest development is part of a comprehensive strategy to enter the more affordable EV segment, building on the momentum of the Lucid Air introduced in 2021. This third midsize model advances the company’s push to reduce costs through innovations in battery, powertrain, and advanced EV technologies to make electric vehicles more attainable while strengthening its position against leading competitors in the EV segment.
