Leapmotor plans to broaden its lineup next year by introducing an extended-range electric version (EREV) of its compact B10 SUV. The company says this addition will help bridge the transition between petrol-powered and fully electric models as it expands globally.
During the B10’s international launch in France, Francesco Giacalone, Global Head of Brand Strategy, Product, and Marketing at Leapmotor International, confirmed that the B10 will feature a range-extender powertrain starting in 2026.
He explained that the move was influenced by the strong performance of the C10 mid-size SUV, which is available in both EV and EREV options. In China, about half of C10 customers opt for the hybrid version, and Leapmotor anticipates comparable demand once the technology is introduced to international markets.
Giacalone stated that the EREV powertrain will be added to the B10 lineup following its initial launch as a pure EV, calling it vital for customers who remain concerned about charging networks or driving range on longer trips.
He also clarified that Leapmotor has no plans to move the B10 to an 800-volt platform, noting that the current 400-volt system already supports rapid charging while maintaining cost efficiency.

As per official specifications, the B10 is equipped with a 67.1kWh LFP battery that offers a WLTP range of 434km, while a smaller 56.2kWh version delivers up to 361km. Both variants feature a rear-mounted motor producing 160kW of power and 240Nm of torque, and support rapid DC charging from 30% to 80% in approximately 20 minutes using a 140–168kW charger.
Standard equipment includes a 14.6-inch infotainment display, 17 ADAS features, a 360-degree camera system, and a panoramic glass roof. The Design LR variant further adds TechnoLeather upholstery, power-adjustable and ventilated front seats, and a premium 12-speaker audio system.
Giacalone shared that Leapmotor intends to use the same drivetrain architecture globally, with the range-extender version of the B10 expected to enter new markets in 2026. The B10 will join the C10 and T03 city car as the brand’s third international model, aligning with Leapmotor’s strategy to launch a new vehicle every six months.
