Kia Canada has revealed the pricing and reservation details for the 2027 EV5, an all-electric SUV that will be sold exclusively in Canada for the North American market.
Online reservations for the EV5 are now open, with prices ranging from $43,495 CAD for the entry-level trim to $61,495 CAD for the top AWD GT-Line Limited. Buyers can choose from nine available trims.
All EV5 trims beyond the Light edition are available with either front‑wheel or all‑wheel drive, with AWD adding $2,500 CAD to the price.
Except for the Light model, every EV5 is equipped with an 81.4 kWh battery that delivers up to 460 km (285 miles) of range, while the entry-level Light comes with a 60.4 kWh battery, providing up to 335 km (208 miles) of driving range.

The EV5 also comes with NACS (North American Charging Standard) compatibility, allowing drivers to utilize Canada’s broadening network of high‑power DC chargers.
The EV5 is built on Kia’s Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP) and features a 400-volt charging system. The entry-level EV5 is set to launch in Canada late next year, debuting as the country’s most affordable electric SUV.
Kia introduced the EV5 in 2023, first launching it in China. The SUV draws design inspiration from the larger EV9, featuring a bold stance, a closed ‘tiger face’ grille adapted for electric vehicles, and a distinctive 3D star map lighting signature.

Production of the EV5 for the Canadian market will take place at Kia Autoland Gwangju in South Korea, with initial availability spanning the Wind FWD through GT-Line Limited AWD trims.
Kia has confirmed that the EV5 will not be sold in the U.S., though the company has not provided an official explanation; U.S. import tariffs may be a factor. In Canada, the all-electric SUV competes in what Kia describes as the country’s largest vehicle segment and marks the first of three more affordable EVs the brand plans to launch there in 2026.
