Kia India has partnered with the Automotive Skills Development Council (ASDC) to develop a skilled workforce for the Indian automobile sector. The South Korean automaker, part of the Hyundai Motor Group, said the collaboration is to bolster ties between the auto industry and academia while creating a sustainable talent pipeline for the sector.
Under a signed memorandum of understanding (MoU), the two organizations will focus on building a sustainable skilling ecosystem and enhancing placement support for the automotive industry. Kia noted that with the growing adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) and the rising importance of customer experience in India’s mobility transformation, the initiative is expected to significantly improve workforce readiness in these critical areas.

“This collaboration with ASDC represents a major step in Kia India’s commitment to shaping a future-ready ecosystem anchored in skilled human capital and enhanced customer experience,” said Joonsu Cho, Chief Sales Officer at Kia India. “By creating a strong talent pool through structured training and certification, we are not only empowering India’s youth with meaningful employment but also reinforcing the dealer network.”
The partnership comes at a time of rapid transformation in the Indian automotive landscape. While traditional fossil fuel-powered vehicles face challenges, alternative propulsion technologies such as EVs and CNG models are expanding their market presence. The digitalization of modern vehicle cockpits is accelerating, reshaping customer expectations and driving demand for skilled professionals in after-sales service, a key element of overall customer satisfaction across all brands.

Through this collaboration, Kia India and ASDC aim to equip the workforce with specialized skills to meet the evolving demands of the sector, thereby enhancing service quality and customer experience in line with industry advancements.
