Kia and LG Electronics partnered to develop next-generation mobility space solutions, combining Kia’s Platform Beyond Vehicle (PBV) technology with LG’s advanced home appliances and AI systems. The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed at the 2025 Seoul Mobility Show, held at KINTEX in Goyang, South Korea.
The agreement, signed by Won-Jeong Jeong, Executive Vice President and Head of the Korea Business Division at Kia, and Lyu Jae-cheol, President of the LG Home Appliance Solution Company, focuses on delivering personalised mobile environments tailored to users’ diverse work and lifestyle needs.

By integrating LG’s AI-powered appliances into Kia’s PBV lineup, the companies aim to transform vehicles into versatile spaces that function as mobile offices, studios, or leisure lounges.
“By offering mobility space solutions that combine automobiles with home appliances, we aim to lead a transformative shift in customers’ lifestyles,” said Jeong. “This partnership with LG Electronics advances the core value of PBVs, contributing to a new mobility paradigm where vehicles evolve into personalized spaces for living and working.”
As part of their collaboration, Kia and LG are presenting two PV5 Spielraum concept models at the Kia pavilion during the Seoul Mobility Show, which runs from April 4 to 13. The term ‘Spielraum’—German for ‘play space’—captures the essence of flexible and functional mobility.

The Spielraum Studio concept is designed for mobile professionals such as solo entrepreneurs. It features LG’s modular Styler garment care systems, smart mirrors, and coffee machines, all powered by AI. The system can monitor schedules, estimate travel time, and adjust appliance settings accordingly to optimise the user experience.
The Spielraum Glow cabin concept caters to outdoor leisure enthusiasts. It incorporates home-style features such as refrigerators, lightwave ovens, and wine cellars, all enhanced with LG’s MoodUP panels that change color based on the user’s preferences, adding a personalised ambiance.
Kia and LG plan to commercialize these concept models in the second half of 2026. They also intend to expand their collaboration into the joint development of AI solutions and advanced home appliances designed specifically for mobile applications, streamlining and enhancing daily tasks on the move.
