As summer heats up, so does the automotive industry. Ushering in the season with a refreshing splash of color, Jeep unveils vibrant ‘Bikini’ and ‘Punk’n’ hues for Wrangler and Gladiator models.
The move presents a significant upheaval from the typically conservative automotive color spectrum dominated by whites, blacks, and silvers. The addition of these vibrant colors seems to target pleasing not just potential buyers but also spectators who will enjoy a more diverse and colorful automotive landscape.
The 2024 Jeep Wrangler will launch in a radiant teal dubbed ‘Bikini,’ expanding its exterior color lineup to 11 unique shades, comprising Anvil (a new addition for 2024), Earl, Firecracker Red, Granite Crystal, Silver Zynith, High Velocity yellow, Hydro Blue, Sarge green, Bright White, black, and of course, Bikini teal. The new color is part of an augmented redesign of the 2024 Wrangler. It showcases an updated seven-slot grille, factory-installed Warn winch, 10 new wheel styles, and wireless integration for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, among other upgrades.
Meanwhile, the 2023 Jeep Gladiator reintroduces ‘Punk’n,’ a vibrant orange hue that was part of the introductory color palette of the 2020 Gladiator. This addition expands the Gladiator’s exterior color count to 10, which includes Sarge green, Sting-Gray, Firecracker Red, Granite Crystal, Silver Zynith, High Velocity yellow, Hydro Blue, Bright White, black, and the returning Punk’n orange.
These exclusive edition colors come at a $795 premium, marking a modest growth of $200 for the Wrangler and $300 for the Gladiator over other ‘premium’ colors, excluding white. Bikini teal and Punk’n orange are out for the market and orders are open. However, interested customers should note these special-run colors will be available for a limited period only, with production commencing in September.
The revitalized emphasis on exterior aesthetics from Jeep, defined by these authentic and adventurous colors, acts as a vibrant contrast in a monochrome automotive world. It’s a playful, yet strategic move that underscores the brand’s dedication to fun and authenticity, reinforcing Jeep’s stand in building vehicles that are as enjoyable to look at as they are to drive.
