Isuzu Motors announced the launch of the refined ‘MU-X’ model at a recent event in Bangkok, Thailand, marking the commencement of a global deployment strategy destined to encompass over 60 countries and regions.
Rooted in the durable architecture of Isuzu’s robust 1-ton ‘D-MAX’ pickup, the MU-X caters to the Pick-up Passenger Vehicle (PPV) segment as a 7-passenger vehicle. Esteemed for its resilience and superior performance across challenging terrains, this model commands a strong presence in diverse markets including Thailand, Australia, South Africa, the Middle East, and Central America.
This iteration represents the first substantial refinement since the model’s comprehensive redesign in 2020. The updated MU-X boasts a ‘Bold and Dynamic’ exterior with an elite ‘RS’ designation, enhancing its allure of luxury and sportiness.
At the Bangkok premiere, Isuzu’s President and COO, Shinsuke Minami, emphasized the MU-X’s robust market performance, notably achieving a 34.6% market share in Thailand the previous year. “The current MU-X, which underwent a full model change in 2020, has been well received in more than 60 countries and regions around the world, including here in Thailand, where it achieved a record market share of 34.6% last year. We are confident that the MU-X, which has undergone a further evolution with a redesigned exterior and interior, will continue to be one of the key products that drive the Isuzu brand to new heights on a global scale.”
