Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted India’s emergence as a key global hub for automobile production and electronics manufacturing during a media event on Saturday. He noted that India is now producing everything from semiconductors to aircraft carriers, attracting global interest in its rapid industrial transformation.
PM Modi attributed this progress to years of strategic policy decisions and infrastructural development. He pointed out that incomplete bridges and stalled road projects from the past have given way to modern highways and expressways, reducing logistics costs and boosting industrial efficiency. This, he said, has significantly benefited the automobile sector, increasing vehicle demand and encouraging electric vehicle production.

Emphasizing India’s growing role in global trade, Modi stated that the country is not only a major producer but also a reliable partner in the global supply chain. He cited the expansion of electricity to over 2.5 crore families in the past decade as a catalyst for rising demand in electronic equipment manufacturing.
The Prime Minister highlighted how affordable data access has fueled mobile phone demand, leading to increased digital device consumption. Government initiatives such as the Production-Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme have transformed this demand into an opportunity, turning India into a major electronics exporter.
