Hyundai Mobis, a key subsidiary of Hyundai, has introduced what it claims is the world’s first ‘Holographic Windshield Display’ at CES 2025 in Las Vegas. This groundbreaking technology features a trio of head-up displays spanning the entire width of the windscreen, redefining smart mobility solutions.
The system integrates two displays for the driver, providing critical information such as navigation, infotainment, and safety alerts, while a third display is dedicated to the front passenger. The passenger’s screen supports video streaming and gaming through screen mirroring, ensuring privacy by remaining invisible to other occupants. This innovation uses special optical film to project a large yet clear display of information without obstructing the driver’s view of the road. Hyundai aims to bring this technology to mass production by 2027.
Other Innovations by Hyundai Mobis at CES 2025
In addition to the holographic windscreen, Hyundai Mobis unveiled two other pioneering technologies:
- Adaptive Interior Lighting System: This human-centric lighting adapts to user needs through 32 modes that respond to biological rhythms, health conditions, and external surroundings. It enhances safety by changing door lighting from green to amber and red to warn against potential obstructions when opening.
- M.Brain Driver Monitoring System: Using an earpiece to measure brainwaves, M.Brain evaluates the driver’s stress and focus levels. It can prompt alerts if inattention or drowsiness is detected by vibrating seats, adjusting interior lighting, or playing more energetic music.
