Hyundai may cut another EV from its U.S. lineup, with the sporty ‘N’ edition becoming the sole IONIQ 6 trim available for the 2026 model year.
The company has confirmed that the IONIQ 6 N will be available in ‘extremely limited’ numbers in the U.S., though no details have been shared about the standard version.
Hyundai significantly updated the electric fastback for 2026, giving it a sleeker design, a larger battery for extended range, an upgraded interior, and other improvements.
According to a report from Jalopnik, the IONIQ 6 N could end up being the sole trim offered next year.

Hyundai said it currently has no updates on whether the refreshed IONIQ 6 will come to the U.S. The company’s website also lists the 2026 IONIQ 6 with a note that ‘more details’ are to come.
While Hyundai has kept its EV lineup intact in the U.S., its luxury arm, Genesis, has discontinued the Electrified G80 and is moving away from its original all-electric strategy.
Meanwhile, Genesis is now preparing to introduce its first hybrid and extended-range electric (EREV) models.
Kia, Hyundai’s sister company, has put the EV4 electric sedan and the performance-focused EV9 GT on indefinite delay for the U.S. market.

A Hyundai spokesperson told TheKoreanCarBlog that there are no new updates regarding plans to introduce the refreshed IONIQ 6 in the U.S. At present, the high-performance N version is the only 2026 IONIQ 6 trim confirmed for release.
Hyundai hasn’t announced pricing for the 641-hp electric performance model yet, but since the 2025 IONIQ 5 N starts at $66,200, the IONIQ 6 N is expected to come in a bit higher.
