Honda Cars India has reduced the price of its City e:HEV, the hybrid variant of its best-selling sedan. The fully equipped ZX trim now comes at ₹19.90 lakh (ex-showroom), marking a reduction of nearly ₹1 lakh from its previous price. The revision brings the City e:HEV’s cost nearly back to its 2022 launch price of ₹19.5 lakh, reinforcing its value as the only strong hybrid sedan in its segment.
The notable reduction in price has improved the City Hybrid’s affordability and, combined with the government’s renewed emphasis on hybrid vehicles, could drive a strong surge in sales.
The Honda City e:HEV is powered by a 1.5-litre Atkinson-cycle petrol engine, integrated with a strong hybrid system that delivers a combined output of 126hp and 253Nm. Its hybrid powertrain includes a traction motor driven by a lithium-ion battery, and a motor-generator that utilizes energy from the combustion engine to recharge the battery.

The City Hybrid is offered exclusively in the fully loaded ZX variant, packed with premium features such as a digital instrument cluster, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a sunroof, wireless charging, and an 8-speaker sound system. In terms of safety, it’s equipped with Level 2 ADAS, six airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, traction control, and more. It also features Honda’s LaneWatch camera, positioned on the passenger-side wing mirror for augmented side visibility.
The latest pricing strategy is expected to reinvigorate sales in the sedan category, which has faced headwinds from the growing demand for SUVs. Alongside the revised City Hybrid pricing, Honda Cars India has also announced a ₹20,000 price cut for the Amaze VX CVT variant, bringing its ex-showroom price down from ₹10.19 lakh to ₹9.99 lakh.
