Vietnam’s premier eco-friendly transportation solution, Green and Smart Mobility (GSM) is marking a monumental leap in its global expansion strategy. GSM is making an indelible mark in Laos by importing 150 state-of-the-art VinFast electric cars, signaling the initiation of their pioneering electric taxi service, Green SM. This strategic deployment is a testament to GSM’s unwavering commitment to establishing itself as a front-runner in the regional and global ride-hailing sectors, prioritizing sustainable and innovative mobility solutions.
Launching in 2023, GSM’s Green SM plans to elevate Laos’ ride-hailing experience by introducing a fleet of 1,000 meticulously designed VF 5 Plus and VF e34 electric cars. This move is more than an expansion—it symbolizes GSM’s comprehensive vision of providing a diverse range of mobility services, including versatile vehicle leasing options, packaged car rentals, and a uniquely personalized car rental experience.
Adapting a successful business model from Vietnam, GSM will leverage both B2C and B2B strategies in Laos. Besides offering direct ride-hailing services, GSM will facilitate the sale and leasing of VinFast electric vehicles, emphasizing their versatility and appeal, while nurturing a broader ecosystem of electric vehicle adoption.
The introduction of Green SM Taxi in Laos is a strategic endeavor aimed at transforming everyday transportation experiences. It offers an enhanced commuting alternative that is not only quieter and cleaner but also aligns with global sustainable mobility trends. Moreover, GSM’s presence in Laos will serve to strengthen the visibility and reputation of the VinFast brand across the ASEAN region.
Aligned with Laos’ ambitious goal to accelerate the integration of electric vehicles, GSM’s initiative seamlessly corresponds with the nation’s roadmap towards having 30% of vehicles electric and installing 200 public charging stations by 2030. GSM’s CEO, Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh, expressed enthusiasm about this symbiotic alignment, underscoring the mutual cultural and strategic benefits that make Laos a favorable market for GSM’s expansion.
GSM’s journey has been marked by impressive milestones since its inception in April 2023. With a solid footprint established through six million rides within six months, GSM continues to receive accolades for its exceptional and innovative services. The company’s growth trajectory is poised to cover 27 out of 63 provinces and cities in Vietnam by the end of 2023, solidifying its position as a leader in the sustainable mobility sector.
As GSM navigates its path toward global expansion, its strategic forays into the ASEAN markets epitomize a commitment to broadening horizons, driving innovation, and championing sustainable mobility solutions on a global scale.
