Ford is preparing to roll out the new Bronco as part of its effort to rejuvenate the brand in Europe.
According to Automotive News, Ford is introducing the new Bronco for Europe in 2027. The model will be built at the company’s Valencia plant in Spain, alongside the Kuga. It will be a crossover based on the C2 platform, which underpins the Kuga, Bronco Sport, and Maverick, and will feature a plug-in hybrid powertrain.
The upcoming SUV will be more compact than the Bronco Sport, featuring a taller, two-box design inspired by the body-on-frame 4×4 Bronco. According to Autocar, its styling echoes both the Bronco Sport and the Bronco New Energy EV that Ford introduced in China.

The launch of the new model reflects Ford’s strategy of emphasizing its American heritage and shifting toward ‘hero’ vehicles rather than broad, mass-market offerings.
This resembles the approach taken in the U.S., where Ford phased out affordable models like the Fusion and Focus to concentrate on the Bronco lineup—since these high-profile SUVs deliver stronger profitability.
Ford earlier announced plans to manufacture a new ‘multienergy’ model in Valencia, suggesting that the European Bronco could be available in both plugless hybrid and plug-in hybrid powertrains.

The new version is positioned as a more mainstream crossover SUV compared to the existing gas-powered Bronco. It is anticipated to be slightly smaller than the U.S.-spec Bronco, aligning closer in size to the Bronco Sport, and a more accessible alternative to premium SUVs like the JLR Defender Sport and the downsized Mercedes G-Class.
Meanwhile, pre-orders opened last month for Ford’s electrified Bronco in China, which will come in fully electric (EV) and range-extended electric vehicle (EREV) variants.
