Ford Pro, the commercial division of Ford Motor Company, has introduced the Ford Pro Smart Charging Bundle to California, a key market for commercial fleets. This initiative simplifies EV fleet charging, reduces costs, and enhances operational efficiency for businesses across the state.
The Ford Pro Smart Charging Bundle provides California businesses with a choice of a complimentary Ford Pro Level 2 48-amp charger or a Level 2 80-amp charger for depot and workplace use. Available through Ford Pro Charging software, this solution aims to address the complexities of managing EV charging.
Switching to electric vehicles offers both economic and environmental benefits. The E-Transit, Ford’s all-electric model, eliminates gasoline requirements and reduces scheduled maintenance costs by an estimated 48% compared to the 2024 Transit. Additionally, Ford Pro’s smart charging software enables businesses to schedule charging during off-peak hours, cutting utility expenses.
Ford Pro Charging Software features an advanced demand-to-grid response system. This technology automatically pauses charging during peak grid events, alerts users and resumes charging once the event concludes. Such measures alleviate strain on the power grid, decreasing the risk of brownouts and blackouts and contributing to a more stable energy system. Ford Pro also facilitates customer participation in California’s grid demand response programs and the Low Carbon Fuel Standard (LCFS) carbon credits program.
