Ford Australia has revealed a $1000 price increase for the 2026 Mustang lineup, with the base EcoBoost variant now priced at $72,990 excluding on-road expenses. The $1000 price hike follows an earlier $5000 increase across all Mustang models from July 1, which Ford Australia attributed primarily to the implementation of the federal government’s New Vehicle Efficiency Standard (NVES), as reported by CarExpert.
The Mustang EcoBoost continues to be the most budget-friendly option, priced at $72,990 excluding on-road charges. Meanwhile, the entry-level V8 model, the GT fastback with a six-speed manual transmission, will see its price rise to $84,990 before on-road costs. The GT automatic, which holds the title of the lineup’s best-seller, now shares the same $84,990 pre-on-road price tag.
For the 2026 Model Year (MY26), Mustang buyers will have two new exterior paint options—Adriatic Blue, previously seen on the U.S.-exclusive FX package, and the returning Orange Fury. Both are premium colors, priced at an extra $750 for EcoBoost models and $910 for GT variants.

Despite the bump in price, the MY26 EcoBoost Mustang drops a couple of features, specifically the monochromatic rearview mirror and the remote start function via the key fob. However, remote start remains accessible through the FordPass app. Beyond these tweaks, the rest of the standard equipment and mechanical setup stay unchanged, and the V8-powered GT models continue with the same specifications carried over from the 2025 version.
In 2026, Ford will introduce a new Black appearance package for the Mustang, replacing the outgoing Bronze package. The update follows the earlier launch of Black Edition variants for the Ranger and Everest.
Production of the MY26 Mustang for the Australian market will begin in November at the Flint, Michigan, facility—roughly three months after the model year update rolls out in the U.S. this August, with initial customer deliveries expected to start by February next year.
