DMP, a company in automotive high-definition mapping and software worldwide, has announced its foray into South Korean markets as part of its strategic international expansion.
Shuichi Yoshimura, the CEO and President of Dynamic Map Platform, shed light on the company’s ambitious mission. “We aim to fuel innovation across diverse sectors by offering an accurate, high-definition data platform that mirrors the real world in the digital sphere,” he shared. “Our plans revolve around enlarging the coverage of HD maps globally and shaping the digitalization infrastructure.”
Chris Thibodeau, CEO of DMP NA, expressed the company’s anticipation in initiating operations in South Korea. “DMP is thrilled to broaden our footprint in South Korea to create and provide top-tier data for our expanding clientele,” he stated. “We are committed to promoting safe deployment of autonomous technology, enhancing mobility, and crafting crucial data for smart infrastructure.”
Leveraging ‘ground truth’ roadway measurements and a variety of map features, DMP facilitates L2+ ADAS functionalities. These contributions also bolster roadway modeling and analytics. The DMP toolchain is adept at identifying and mapping hundreds of road features, making it an indispensable asset for ensuring safe, hands-off driving.
Presently, DMP is in mass production with several OEMs across North America and Japan. The company’s decision to extend mapping operations to South Korea signifies a substantial progression in its quest to revolutionize transportation.
Duane Garwood, President of DMP Korea, conveyed optimism about the company’s position in the Korean market. “We are excellently poised to cater to numerous OEMs in South Korea,” he said. “Our strategic partnership with SolDrive, our primary supplier in South Korea, has enabled us to hit the ground running.”
Dynamic Map Platform provides HD maps and software for advanced driver assistance systems and autonomous vehicles. Before DMP’s acquisition, Ushr introduced the first HD map to mass production. DMP’s HD maps now support hands-free driver assistance with a focus on safety. Based in Seoul, DMP Korea is a subsidiary of Dynamic Map Platform.
