CUPRA is offering an unprecedented initiative to attract first-time electric vehicle (EV) buyers with its award-winning, all-electric CUPRA Born. The UK-first ‘Love Me or Leave Me’ scheme allows customers to return their CUPRA Born after three months if they find that electric car ownership doesn’t suit their lifestyle.
This initiative aims to ease the transition to electric vehicles for those who remain uncertain about whether EVs will meet their needs. CUPRA’s offer gives potential EV owners the chance to experience the benefits of electric driving, including impressive battery range, dynamic handling, and charging convenience, without the long-term commitment.
The offer applies to all models of the CUPRA Born, including the high-performance CUPRA Born VZ, which boasts a 326PS electric powertrain capable of accelerating from 0-62mph in just 5.6 seconds. The scheme is available on qualifying vehicles ordered from CUPRA’s current stock. Should the owner choose to return the car within three months, CUPRA will refund the deposit, subject to standard conditions such as vehicle damage or excess mileage. This option is available for both outright purchases and finance agreements.
Marcus Gossen, Director of SEAT and CUPRA UK, described the initiative as groundbreaking, stating: “CUPRA Born is already a compelling proposition, bringing performance, great range, sporty styling and an outstanding interior into one package that owners tell us they love. But, if the experience doesn’t suit their lifestyle and a driver doesn’t gel with EV ownership, they can hand the keys back after three months.”
To further support new EV drivers, CUPRA has partnered with green energy supplier OVO to offer up to 10,000 free miles for CUPRA owners who sign up for the Charge Anytime tariff as part of their OVO energy plan. This tariff allows smart home charging at just 7p per kWh, day or night.
Additionally, CUPRA has collaborated with Ohme to provide a free home EV charger, which integrates easily with any home charging tariff. The charger offers full mobile app control for scheduling charging and tracking electricity usage and costs. Ohme’s CEO, David Watson, expressed excitement about the partnership, noting that the scheme will bring affordable, low-emission electric driving to more motorists across the UK.
