Cox Automotive has entered an exclusive five-year agreement with Lookers, one of the UK’s largest dealership groups, to implement a comprehensive remarketing program across its 135 dealerships nationwide. The partnership aims to optimise Lookers’ remarketing strategy, combining digital and physical solutions to enhance operational efficiency and expand growth opportunities.
As part of the collaboration, Lookers will leverage Cox Automotive’s Manheim auction platform, which integrates physical and digital channels, enabling faster market entry and improved conversion rates. This dual approach aligns with Lookers’ 2025 remarketing objectives. Dealer Auction’s closed network technology will complement the auction platform by maximising intra-network retail opportunities, ensuring vehicles remain within Lookers’ ecosystem.
Additional elements of the program include Cox Automotive’s eVA platform, which will provide valuation, appraisal, and consumer vehicle purchasing solutions, alongside Movex logistics marketplace for streamlined transportation and logistics support.
A Lookers spokesperson emphasised the importance of the dual auction strategy, “Evolving our remarketing strategy to encompass a dual approach to digital and physical opportunities is a key priority for our business in 2025. We believe this will give us the greatest opportunity to maximise returns and Cox Automotive was the best placed partner to help us deliver this strategy.”
The partnership marks a significant step forward for Lookers, aligning with the international growth ambitions of its parent company, Global Automotive Holdings, by positioning the group for potential expansion into European and US markets.
Martin Forbes, President of Cox Automotive Europe, described the partnership as a pivotal development, “We are taking our relationship with Lookers to the next level, beyond the products from Codeweavers and Modix that they utilise today. The new scope of our partnership demonstrates the true potential of Cox Automotive’s connected offering and how it can drive greater efficiency for dealership networks.”
“With touchpoints across each key stage of the remarketing lifecycle, we bring clarity and efficiency to a complex process, all while boosting profits and conversion rates. Delivering this expertise to one of the UK’s largest dealership groups is a fantastic opportunity to bring this proposition to life. We look forward to working closely with Lookers to make this a reality,” he added.
The partnership will facilitate the sale of 18,500 additional units annually through Manheim and Dealer Auction, encompassing vehicles from 38 premium and volume manufacturers. Lookers will hold weekly vehicle sales at Manheim Auction centres in Shotts, Washington, Leeds, and Colchester, alongside dedicated light commercial vehicle (LCV) sales, further solidifying its position as a leading player in the UK automotive market.
