This partnership heralds a new chapter in Smart Cockpit High-Performance Computers (HPCs), driven by Telechips’ sophisticated Dolphin System on Chip (SoC) family.
Tailored to meet the demands of Continental’s Smart Cockpit HPCs, the Dolphin SoC family blends exceptional system performance with cost-effectiveness and swift development cycles. With Telechips’ SoC now a cornerstone in Continental’s Smart Cockpit HPC solutions, these systems cater to advanced cockpit designs and support complex assistance systems, including up to five cameras.
Jean-François Tarabbia, leading the Architecture and Networking business area at Continental, emphasizes the partnership’s role in slashing development efforts and costs for automotive manufacturers. This collaboration paves the way for rapid service delivery, achieving a turnaround from order intake to series production in just 18 months.
The Smart Cockpit HPC, merging Telechips’ robust Dolphin processors with pre-loaded functions, aims to elevate the user experience beyond the premium segment. It’s a key player in advancing Electrical/Electronic (E/E) Architecture and shaping future mobility.
A highlight of the Smart Cockpit HPC is its broad range of functions. Notably, it features a ‘Surround View’ system utilizing four cameras, offering a complete 360-degree view around the vehicle. This function is vital for various driving situations, including parking, low-speed maneuvers, and navigating busy city streets, thereby enhancing safety and driver convenience.
Telechips, now a standard in Continental’s Smart Cockpit HPC solution, has achieved significant international standards like ISO26262, TISAX, and ASPICE, underscoring its commitment to excellence.
Set for a grand showcase at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas from January 9-12, 2024, Continental’s Smart Cockpit HPC will display the fruits of this collaboration. Visitors can expect demonstrations of various innovative Smart Cockpit solutions, underlining the partnership’s impact on advanced automotive technology.
Complementing this technological leap, Continental has joined forces with Google Cloud to integrate a groundbreaking dialog system into the Smart Cockpit HPC. This system utilizes generative AI to compile information, thereby providing responsive answers to drivers’ queries and enriching the driving experience. This collaboration is a landmark in the automotive sector, redefining standards for smart cockpit technology and enhancing user experience.
