BMW i Ventures has committed to a $12 million Series B funding round for RunSafe Security, a cybersecurity firm revolutionizing software protection through immunization technology. Led by Critical Ventures and SineWave Venture Partners, this round includes investments from Lockheed Martin Ventures, HyperLink Ventures, Iron Gate Ventures, Alsop Louie Partners, Working Lab Capital, and NextGen Venture Partners.
RunSafe Security specializes in safeguarding software from cyberattacks by immunizing systems without interrupting developer workflows. This fresh capital injection will accelerate the company’s product development and expand its footprint across EMEA and APAC. RunSafe’s rapid growth has been marked by two consecutive years of tripling revenue, with its solutions already trusted by leaders across aerospace, defense, and energy sectors.
Kasper Sage, Managing Partner at BMW i Ventures, highlighted the rising threat of memory attacks on embedded systems within connected devices. “RunSafe’s cybersecurity technology immunizes memory-based systems from unknown vulnerabilities and future attacks. BMW i Ventures is committed to advancing safety and security measures across the automotive supply chain and beyond and is excited to partner with Joe and the RunSafe team to support their mission.”
RunSafe CEO Joe Saunders emphasized the strategic impact of this investment, noting, “This investment round will enable us to accelerate our efforts in delivering innovative solutions that protect critical systems from cyber attacks, without the need for extensive code rewrites,” He also pointed out RunSafe’s expanding client base, including major players such as Vertiv, Schneider Electric, GE Aviation, and branches of the U.S. military, including the Army, Navy, and Air Force.
RunSafe’s platform delivers automated solutions for software bill of materials (SBOM) generation, vulnerability detection, and exploit prevention. The company’s technology stands as a crucial defense for embedded software within critical infrastructure. BMW i Ventures’ investment solidifies its role as a driving force in cybersecurity advancements across industries.
