Bentley’s newest Bentayga Speed has claimed the title of the fastest ICE-powered production SUV at the Goodwood Festival of Speed hill climb. Despite uneven conditions, the 641 bhp luxury SUV clocked an impressive time of 55.8 seconds during its run last Sunday, just before the event officially opened to the public.
Piloted by Bentley expert Andy Marson, the V8-powered Bentayga Speed outpaced its W12 predecessor, reaching a peak speed of 209 km/h during its hillclimb, surpassing the previous benchmark set in dry conditions.
Bentley highlighted that the run demonstrated the effectiveness of the Bentayga Speed’s updated chassis, enhanced ESC Dynamic mode, and all-wheel steering, each engineered to sharpen cornering precision and boost overall stability.

Bentley’s latest Bentayga Speed is powered by a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine that delivers 641 bhp and 850 Nm of torque. It accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.4 seconds and can reach a top speed of 193 mph (310 km/h). In terms of handling, the new model features key upgrades over its predecessors, including a retuned SPORT mode, advanced ESC Dynamic software, and all-wheel steering, resulting in a more agile response and improved cornering traction.
The Bentayga also offers optional carbon ceramic brakes which, when paired with ESC Dynamic mode, enhance driver control and agility. The setup enables precise torque vectoring for sharper cornering and allows skilled drivers to execute controlled drift angles with greater confidence.

The Bentayga maintains its signature SUV silhouette while introducing a more aggressive visual edge. It boasts dark-tinted bezels on both the headlamps and tail lamps, along with standard 22-inch Speed alloy wheels. For the first time in Bentley’s SUV lineup, an optional 23-inch wheel is offered exclusively with the carbon ceramic brake package.
